I agree, this is really not fair.
In fact, to make matters worse, yesterday I went on to CTV.com to try to watch Corner Gas via the streaming link, and it wouldn’t let me. A message on my screen said that since I was using a server outside of Canada, that due to copyright laws, I could not watch any of their programming! Can you imagine!?
