Lest I came across as too critical in other posts, let me go on the record as saying that Glasgow has many very attractive sections.

Especially the University and Kelvingrove Art Gallery area. I stayed near Kelvingrove Park, an area rapidly being yuppified.

The Scots, too, were the most friendly people I found in Europe.
