Port Elizabeth (PE) is the 5th largest city in South Africa.
Surprisingly, I ended up spending a week there.
It now forms part of the Nelson Mandela Bay Metropolitan Municipality which has a population of over 1.3 million. …
I’d never heard of the city before. It had a reputation for street crime.
But improvements made leading up to the 2010 FIFA World Cup seem to have made a big difference.
Summerstrand beach, the main area for tourists, is considered relatively safe.
The city is beautiful with many attractions, including Addo Elephant Park. Many complain about the WIND. 🙂
