I first heard of McCharles lake while researching the family tree. It is located in Graham township near Sudbury, Ontario.
It’s not named after ME, so far as I know. But the ancestors, no doubt, fished these waters.

McCharles Lake was named after Aeneas McCharles, Sudbury prospector, who died in 1906. He was born in Middle River, Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, in 1844.
I know the name. I believe I am something of a descendant of Aeneas.
Thanks for the information.
I’m related to Aeneas McCharles, my father was Oliver Aeneas McCharles and there is a book written ‘Bemocked of Destiny’ of which i have a few copies, that follows the explorations of Aeneas.
John McCharles
Thanks John.
I have read the new book.
