Doesn’t do it for me. In fact, the combination of the over-the-top rah-rah and the no-attention-span quick flick look of the thing seems WAY more American than the supposed quiet confidence and long, sober thought that I had always thought we (quietly) prided ourselves on. And that’s coming from someone who really likes the USA. Mark my words, if we’re going to fall for crap for the sort of ideals behind this ad, it won’t be long before we’re involved in a stupid, land war in Asia.

Can’t you just enjoy the irony of a patriotic Canadian ad that’s really a bud ad in disguise? You’re supposed to laugh, for God’s sake.
And please … you talk about being over the top and then bring up Afghanistan while talking about a friggin’ ad? You say 93 dead (and climbing) – I say, 18 medals (three gold, nine silver, six bronze). Go Canada! Loud and proud. (And don’t bring me down by talking about bread and circuses, ok?)
