Good question:
There are so many things that Craigslist could do better; so many ways it has stopped innovating; and so many social and network features that a competitor could leverage. Why hasn’t anyone disrupted and replaced Craigslist?
Having posted something on Craig’s List lately, I can confirm it’s pretty crappy. And not improving.
Kijiji is quite a bit better.
Andrew Parker says that competitors have eroded Craig’s List on a category-by-category basis.

Kijiji is the best recycling method ever; I’m a huge fan. During the last three years I’ve had to dismantle and rebuild two entire households–without Kijiji it would have cost five times as much. Now, I’m turning my attention outdoors. I need a garden tractor badly for our four neglected acres–this morning I found someone who wants to sell, so yay! we made a deal. If I had waited for the money to buy new, the grass would have grown over the house. Hope your dad finds a good boat!
