I used DHL for a very important shipment Nepal to Canada, Canada back to Nepal.

But it was not delivered to me in Kathmandu until … Sunday, November 16, 2014 at 14:09

Total 6 days. I was expecting 2-3 days.

It was on the delivery truck Friday 14th. All day. At 17:48 the note went up online “Address information needed; contact DHL“. We phoned instantly, only to be told that Saturday was a holiday. No delivery until Sunday. 😦

I complained by email, noting that hotels in Kathmandu do not have street address numbers. We gave DHL the best available address.

Pralhad from DHL Nepal did email me back. I appreciated this:

Please accept our sincere apologies for any trouble or inconvenience caused to you, due to this unfortunate incident.

We would like to inform you that given contact number on airway bill was incorrect to contact you and locate your address. Now it is sorted out and will be delivered around 2pm today.

I won’t use DHL again.

I am in no way affiliated with DHL but have to wonder about refusing to use DHL in the future based on one bad experience. Any indication that the other couriers are better?

    1. I went with DHL because they were the recommended best courier in Nepal. They have followed up on my concerns, so I’m pleased with that. They might win me back. Eventually.
