Thanks Bill Sands.

Thanks Bill Sands.
I am on a reading listening binge. (Thanks to Audible.com and hours each day on my bike with a Nano.)
A Piano in the Pyrenees: The Ups and Downs of an Englishman in the French Mountains
What? He’s not the world’s most famous skateboarder.
He’s Antony Gordon Hawksworth, better known as Tony Hawks, English comedian, author and philanthropist.
I loved his first book — Round Ireland with a Fridge and somewhat liked his second book — Playing the Moldovans at Tennis.
Piano is his fourth book. And it is excellent. I love the amusing, understated British humour.
A Brit out of his element in rural France after impetuously buying a house. Brilliant.
PS
A guy named Dave Nicoll also liked Round Ireland with a Fridge. Inspired, he decided to travel round the WORLD with a fridge.

Ze Frank is a genius.
They let these people vote?
We should rescind universal suffrage.
Al Gore sure has been in the news a lot lately First he won an Oscar, then a Nobel Peace Prize, and now some people are saying he should throw in his lot with another bid for President. But up against juggernaut Hillary Clinton and the favorite of the stars, Barack Obama, would Al Gore stand a chance? We decided to ask people in the one place we were SURE Gore would get the thumbs up: San Francisco.
Personally I think Obama has Mitt Romney right where he wants him.
Something has to happen to derail Hillary, though. Perhaps another of Bill’s indiscretions will come to light at just the right time.
Obama announced he was in favour of Net Neutrality the other day while visiting Google.
Some guy claiming to be Rick McCharles is making fun of Microsoft on his blog.
Stepping on my turf, don’t you think?

If you happen to see this Rick, HELLO.
I recently read listened to an audio book called I Am America (And So Can You!) by Stephen Colbert.
Now if you love Colbert, you will love this book.
If you really love Colbert (as I do) you will really love this book.
He’s a one trick pony — making fun of stuffy right-wing mentality by pretending to be a diehard right-winger himself.
The contest:
Brian challenged me to come up with a new word to properly describe the process of listening to an audio book. A new verb.
Not “read”. Not “listen”.

Good news:
Comedy Central’s most valuable gem, “The Daily Show with Jon Stewart,” has the most uncanny knack for satire on everything today’s news can dish out, but before Jon Stewart, the show was barely a blip on the radar. (I dare you to recall any significant, memorable episodes when Craig Kilborn hosted; many of you are probably wondering who that even is, if you’re not asking when he ever hosted “The Daily Show.”) …
But if you’re wondering who will mock the next President Elect of the United States after he is elected, never fear! Jon Stewart will still be here! Comedy Central has extended his contract to 2010, according to a report by ComingSoon.net, which quoted Stewart on the good news.
“I love doing this show,” Stewart stated. “I feel like I work with and for the best in the business. I look forward to using this extension to having great fun at President (Stephen) Colbert’s expense.”

I much prefer Colbert, myself. Here’s a thoughtful article from the LA Times:
Colbert vs. Stewart – Has the student surpassed the master?
You can watch clips from both shows whenever you want on-line, commercial free, on a number of legal sites. I use NewsCloud.
