William Prince – Earthly Days

Lyrics.

William won the Juno Award for Contemporary Roots Album of the Year 2017.

He’s a member of the Peguis First Nation from Manitoba.

You might not find him with a Google search. Unfortunately William Prince looks a lot like Prince William to the Goog.

Apple Music – Taylor Swift – Reputation

Though I haven’t listened to ANY music in at least a decade, I decided to give Apple Music a try.

Three months free.

Listened to Taylor Swift’s Reputation first. Not bad. But none of the songs jump out at me. Immediately.

Sales have been extremely good. Perhaps double her previous album, 1989. Reviews mixed.

I was thinking Taylor Swift has peaked.

Look What You Made Me Do is catchy. Click PLAY or watch it on YouTube.

Ready For It is OK.

I REALLY like her duet with Sheeran.

… Maybe I’m not over Taylor Swift yet.

how EMINEM became the world’s #1 rapper

An amazing story.

In an extended clip from the HBO series The Defiant Ones, this is the story of how a white rapper from Detroit and rap’s best producer got together to start one of the decade’s signature musical collaborations. It’s evident from how Eminem and Dre tell the story that their first session in the studio was like falling in love…

How did things work out for Dre?

As of 2017 he is the third richest figure in hip hop according to Forbes with a net worth of $740 million.

Not bad for a kid out of Compton, CA. He came up with N.W.A., the first rap group that caught my attention.

Immigrants (We Get The Job Done)

Immigration is good for the economy.

In Canada I trust immigrants more than I trust non-immigrants.

That said … every nation needs immigration laws. Illegal immigrants should be quickly and ethically brought to trials. The Canadian legal system is too slow.

“Tiny Dancer” by Elton John & Bernie Taupin

After seeing the NEW VIDEO for the classic song, I got these lyrics stuck in my head. For days.

I love this song first released 1971.

Blue jean baby, L.A. lady, seamstress for the band
Pretty eyed, pirate smile, you’ll marry a music man
Ballerina, you must have seen her dancing in the sand
And now she’s in me, always with me, tiny dancer in my hand

lyrics

Bernie Taupin:

We came to California in the fall of 1970 and it seemed like sunshine just radiated from the populace,” Taupin says. “I guess I was trying to capture the spirit of that time, encapsulated by the women we met, especially at the clothes stores and restaurants and bars all up and down the Sunset Strip. They were these free spirits, sexy, all hip-huggers and lacy blouses, very ethereal the way they moved.”

“They were just so different from what I’d been used to in England,” Taupin continues. “They had this thing about embroidering your clothes. They wanted to sew patches on your jeans. They mothered you and slept with you. …
