Thanks Brion and Betsy for hosting. I had a great time hiking and biking out of your mountain town.
We met in Nepal 2013 trekking the Manaslu Circuit.
Since then they’ve added a new hiker to the family. 🙂

After our spiritual leader – Blill – led our hiking group down from Manzanita hut to civilization, we had 2 extra days on a B.C. hiking holiday.
What to do?
We decided to rent kayaks on Okeover inlet and paddle into the Marine Park. It was inexpensive. C$31 each for an assortment of fibreglass and plastic singles and doubles.
The weather on the water was fantastic. Very calm.
When it got too hot – needless to say – water fights broke out.
This area is known for Oyster farms.
One oddity was seeing a deer in the salt water. It needed salt, we assumed.

VB Highschool in Calgary is no more. It’s now something called Chinook College.
Brian Mason’s VBreunion.com website no longer works, either. But you can still see what it looked like by searching for “vbreunion.com” on the internet archive wayback machine.
If you attended Viscount Bennett, as I did, you could join the Viscount Bennett High School Alumni Facebook page.
For the 3rd year in a row I crashed the New Year’s Eve celebrations at the Adlards in northern Idaho.
For a change, they got a LOT of snow this season.

Their log cabin in the woods looks like one of those Christmas shops. Very festive.

Here’s where Dave works online. 🙂

Dave got a new barbecue for Christmas. Whoop whoop!

Delaney got new snowshoes.

And there’s a new playhouse in the back yard.

The no excuses 10km run went well for me again.

I finished 2nd behind Andy this year, just ahead of Dr. Jeni, my best finish ever.
Andy put on a burst of speed uphill to finish first. Something was motivating him. I can’t imagine what he was thinking about.

Thanks to Dave, Lisa and 5yr-old Delaney for hosting. 🙂

Delicious barbecue. Especially Rich’s spicy tri-tip.
Delaney and I opted to colour and watch Netflix. UFC is too violent. 🙂
In the heart of Whistler lays Lost Lake Park; a recreational wonderland just steps away from the village. Summer activities include hiking, walking, swimming, canoeing and cycling.
The park boasts an incredibly fun network of mountain bike trails referred to as Zappa Trails. This extensive network of manicured pea gravel pathways, along with fun rocky and rooty singletrack trails take the rider from one end of the park to the other and provide ample opportunities for families, beginner and intermediate riders to explore Lost Lake on their mountain bikes.
The Zappa Trails are a favourite among locals looking to get out for a quick cruise after work or when short on time. The trails are well marked and maintained year round by the Resort Municipality of Whistler, making them relatively easy to navigate. If you do get lost, you’ll find maps at all the major junctions to get you back on track.
The Zappa Trails are well suited to families looking at exploring Lost Lake on two wheels. …
