Dream Catcher Academy near Lagos is a school for orphaned and indigent girls. The goal is quality education, arts and leadership and life skills.
Seyi Oluyole started Dream Catchers Academy with only 5 girls in 2014. It provides free dance, drama and music classes for underprivileged children.
I’m following the school now. And will try to visit next time I get to Nigeria.
It was this dance with afrobeat superstar Davido that first caught my attention.
My latest experiment in video editing is software called Audio Sound Design.
I’m learning about these sound effects:
Not inexpensive, but I did get 50% off a perpetual license during Black Friday.
In the 1990s I edited video — and feared all audio. It was easy to screw up.
By 2022 I was enjoying the audio editing as much as video. Putting visuals to an interesting song is fun.
I was finding it a pain to find and add sound effects.
Audio Design Desk comes with 70,000+ royalty free sounds, loops and music cues.
Adding them to your video is a breeze with this software.
The advanced features are futuristic. I’ll go slow experimenting with those.
Here’s my first TEST. I edited stock video from Indonesia.
Music and sound effects were added using Audio Sound Design software.

I listen to more audio than anyone else you know. 😀
Mostly audio books and podcasts. Mostly when I am on the move or exercising.
I cursed Steve Jobs thousands of times for not promoting wireless headphones.
Steve died too young in 2011 (aged 56) — RIP.
AirPods were launched 2016 alongside the iPhone 7.
My entire life was instantly 13% 😀 improved.
I’ve used the least expensive 1st generation AirPods until 2023 and have been very happy. Amazingly, I’ve only lost two individual AirPods and kept using the rest, often syncing one AirPod at a time.
Finally I upgraded to AirPods Pro 2 in 2023. Expensive. But worth it for me.
I somewhat appreciate the improved sound quality and noise cancellation capabilities, and extended battery life — but the main reason I’m endorsing the product are the volume adjusting gestures and better Find My tracking.
The original AirPods had no physical volume adjustment.
The case has an external speaker so you can more easily located it when lost between pillow cushions.
Pausing audio by clicking is far better than the old double tap.
Maximum volume is quite a bit higher in the Pros.
Another plus is faster connection via Bluetooth.
I don’t like AirPods switching automatically. The default. But it’s easy to turn that off. AirPods stay connected to the device of your choice — unless you tell them to switch.
Of course I got the case engraved with my email address in case I leave it somewhere. 🙏
The sound has more base. Not super important for me, but it does seem to make female voices richer in podcasts.

Randy and Val have been hosting an online music event since the pandemic.
I sat in LIVE for the 18th episode.
My brother’s Suspicious Minds in full Elvis costume was the highlight. 😀
One of the guests played a version of Dancing in the Moonlight (1970) written by Sherman Kelly, originally recorded Kelly’s band Boffalongo.
It became a worldwide hit single by King Harvest in 1972.

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour is the biggest in history.
… Kanye who? 😀
Business students will study how she built this music empire.
If you are a Republican strategist, your worst nightmare is Taylor Swift campaigning for Biden. Her fans are even more fanatic than Trump’s deplorables.
I’m a fan girl myself, but wouldn’t pay to see the show LIVE. Too expen$ive.
I will see the movie.
