‘A man is rich in proportion to the number of things which he can afford to let alone.’ ~Henry David Thoreau
… what would happen if I uncluttered my life.
A life uncluttered by most of the things people fill their lives with, and left with space for what really matters. A life that isn’t constant busy-ness and rushing, but contemplation and creation, connection with people I love and time for nature and activity.
That doesn’t mean I have zero clutter and zero complications: I’m a part of the world, not a secluded monk. I have possessions, electronics, distractions, and occasional busy-ness. I just would reduce it to make space for things of more importance. …
That’s from a Gymnastics friend of mine, Tony Retrosi.
He’s preaching to the converted in my case. 🙂
One point in that post hit home more than any other:
• Your attention is your most valuable possession. Give it as a gift to the people you love most, not a bunch of clowns on the Internet. Give it to the work that matters most, not distractions. …
Got it.

Because of the progression of the disease, the 78-year-old Campbell was admitted to a special care facility in Nashville in April. …
Are we no closer to solving Alzheimer’s? 😦
Most mornings I jog along the river just outside the Green Forest hostel.

Folks are out dancing, doing Tai Chi, walking backwards, walking while clapping hands, swimming, stretching. Morning exercise outdoors is a great Chinese tradition. There are fitness playgrounds everywhere.

Striking is the contrast between the traditional and modern.

7-days of continuous physical and mental challenge, almost no sleep, bad food, questionable water. Who invented this sport? 🙂
To stagger the start of Expedition Idaho, Race Director Dave Adlard, set a unique prologue.
Teams had to climb the toughest waterslide, starting over if anyone slipped.
If successful, they then took a victory lap … running the Lazy River. Backwards. 🙂
This is even tougher than it looks.

Good luck.
My friend Carrie was surprised to see her daughters on the front page of her hometown newspaper this morning.
Both girls are gymnasts.
I curse the stuff, even when it isn’t killing you. It’s so breakable.

After years of working late night, eating late night, I’m not hungry on waking up in the morning.
It’s about 11am before I start to feel peckish.
I’ve gotten a lot of grief over the years from people stating:
“Breakfast is the most important meal of the day.”
Ask Sen. Marco Rubio whether he’s ever smoked marijuana, and the answer you’ll receive might seem a bit hazy.
In an interview with ABC and Yahoo News’ Politics Confidential published Monday, the Florida Republican and potential 2016 presidential candidate said that he will not answer the much-asked pot question.
“Here’s the problem with that question in American politics, if you say you did, suddenly there are all these people saying ‘Well, it’s not a big deal, look at all these successful people who did it,’” Rubio said, later adding, “On the other side of it, if you tell people that you didn’t, they won’t believe you.”

Once again, the GOP is (mostly) on the wrong side of the trend towards ending the idiotic War on Drugs. And decriminalizing marijuana.
Rubio hasn’t the guts to admit he tried pot. That’s what I’m assuming since he hasn’t the guts to answer the question.
